At Sunrise Heart Outreach, we see a world where every vulnerable child and young person has the chance to live with dignity, hope, and possibility, regardless of their background, social status, or situation. In the communities we serve in Rakai, Kampala, and nearby areas, we encounter children living in extreme poverty, orphans fighting for survival without parental care, and young people facing neglect, abuse, and exclusion. The harsh realities are clear: children on the streets, families struggling to put food on their tables, and communities affected by disease, violence, and economic instability.
However, amid these hardships, we also see resilience. This spark of hope, with the right guidance, support, and opportunity, can change lives. Our vision is to tap into this resilience and create a foundation for vulnerable children and youth to rebuild their lives. We want to establish communities where their worth is defined not by their struggles but by their ability to overcome them. By giving them access to education, job skills, mentorship, and emotional support, we hope to help them break free from cycles of poverty and neglect and build a brighter, sustainable future for themselves and their communities. Our Mission
Sunrise Heart Outreach was founded on the belief that hope is a strong force for change. Every day in our communities, we meet children whose laughter has been stifled by hunger, neglect, or trauma; youth whose potential has been taken away due to systemic poverty and social injustice; and families facing overwhelming challenges from disease, natural disasters, and social neglect. These experiences fuel our mission.
Our mission is to restore hope and dignity to vulnerable youth, orphans, and communities dealing with poverty, abuse, violence, disease, and natural disasters. We provide not only immediate help but also sustainable paths for empowerment. We walk with children, youth, and families, giving them support that addresses their physical, emotional, and social needs. We offer education programs, job training, counseling, mentorship, and community involvement to nurture potential, rebuild confidence, and provide tools for self-sufficiency.
At Sunrise Heart Outreach, our mission goes beyond temporary help. We want to change how communities view and support their most vulnerable members. By encouraging compassion, solidarity, and social responsibility, we invite communities to actively help lift their youth and children. This means giving orphans access to quality education when they otherwise might not attend school, teaching young adults job skills so they can earn a steady income, and providing counseling and mentorship to children who have faced trauma or abuse.
